Washington, where Mike "SPARKY" Sparkes opened his first store under the name of "Sparky's Firehouse Subs" in the winter of 1994. The restaurant was well received and has grown in the Spokane market to include several locations operated by Sparky, Inc. In May of 1998 Sparky's shortened its name to just " Sparky's Subs food franchise" and opened its first location outside the Spokane market in Tucson, Arizona. Sparky's is currently implementing an aggressive expansion program into several new markets.

Sparky's makes a fantastic sandwich that has almost twice the amount of product as its competitors at similar price.
